Leverage the Evaluation kit to get you started with your design journey. Plus, create up to 7 different camera configurations as needed, all on your own.

The Dragonfly S Evaluation Kit is meant for use with CS-mount models. Camera and heatsink are not included. A custom heatsink is required for board-level and partial case configurations.

The evaluation kit includes:

USB3, 1 meter, Type A-male to Micro-B (Horizontal Locking) Cable (ACC-01-2313)
Dragonfly S Universal Locking Bracket (ACC-01-0020)
0.3 m 6-pin JST Connector GPIO Cable (ACC-01-3015)
CS- to C-mount 5 mm Spacer Adapter (ACC-01-5004)
Tripod Adapter (ACC-01-0017)

Dragonfly S Thermal Pad

Items in the kit identified with part numbers can also be purchased separately.

Create up to 7 Configurations

Step 1: Select a CS-mount camera of your choice

  • Monochrome, back USB connector (PN: DR-50Y2M-C1-CS)
  • Color, back USB connector (PN: DR-50Y2C-C1-CS)
  • Monochrome, side USB connector (PN: DR-50Y2M-C3-CS)
  • Color, side USB connector (PN: DR-50Y2C-C3-CS)

Step 2: Add the Evaluation Kit (PN: EVAL-KIT-DR-U3)

Step 3: Create any of these configurations

  • C-mount full case camera
  • C-mount partial case camera
  • CS-mount full case camera
  • CS-mount partial case camera
  • S-mount full case camera
  • S-mount partial case camera
  • Board-level camera without mount

Evaluation Kit Components

Item What is it used for?
S-mount front Replaces CS mount front - enables use of M12 lens
Optical C-mount 5 mm Spacer  Use a C-mount lens with the CS-mount front
Tripod adapter  Mount the camera to a tripod (1/4-20 thread). This requires full or partial camera case
USB cable Connection to the PC 
JST cable GPIO cable for trigger input, strobe output, or residual power 
Universal locking bracket Stabilizes the USB connection on board level and partial case configurations
Thermal Pad Replacement thermal pad
Original pad may become compressed following multiple configuration changes.

For board-level and partial case Dragonfly S models, the universal locking bracket provides mechanical stability for the USB connector.
